Why is it that our safety program preaches calling about a potential injury if it happens, so we are aware and yet it never actually seems to work that way?
Monday morning I get bad news, in the form of one of my guys in a boot.
Didn’t think to call me Friday when it happened. The foreman he was working with didn’t know, didn’t notice anything wrong.
Miraculously happened at work, when nobody knew about it, nobody was notified about it and is of course our responsibility.
I take that back, a few people on the crew knew about it, when he texted pictures of his boot to them. Never thought oh hey maybe my boss should know.
Coupled with a spreading rumor about a completely different story about the way it happened.
I fucking hate guys getting hurt, and even more, likely lying about it.
Cant trust anyone anymore.
Only in roofing.
