I had an employee time quit, citing that I had ruined his life for working for me and that he’d never forgive me. A bit aggressive, but OK, I get your wife and you had some issues, and taking it out on your employer seems natural, so I let it and him go.
A year later he came back looking for a job. I hired him as he was previously a good asset.
I had to fire him a few weeks later after a few counseling sessions where I was beyond frustrated with his new attitude. It just wasn’t working out. But it sure made me laugh a bit that he came crawling back. They always come back, problems and all.
